Agree with both sides here. Passion for discovery should drive science. But I also think papers and presentations are opportunities to convey the work in an interesting, accessible, and digested way. A great paper is like a great novel - enjoyable to read to the end.

Wow I'm really going to miss these two. It gets harder every year saying goodbye to such amazing PhD students but I'm so proud of what they accomplished and where they are going next.
