I've been pondering over whether or not to get myself some field recording toys to allow me to capture sounds in a more natural way. Even if I do end up completely mangling them up in some of my tunes. Thing is, Will it consume too much time and cash & result in less music?

I think I will treat myself to the new toys, but I've decided to go to the more expandable device, rather than the cheaper alternative. I want to create my own ambiances, textures & effects from found sounds from places I visit and find interesting...

I've been working on a D&B tune today. Mainly mixing in a new reverb patch I made & gain staging. I'm liking it more now, so I must be doing something right. I now have two similar, but different projects within this genre with potential! So, next I'm thinking progressive house..

Booked a break by the sea... Now I need to make my final decision on what field recording device to purchase and ensure I get it in time. I'm thinking of recording sounds to layer up with the drums & synths for the seaside project....

The worst thing about buying a new toy is the time needed to research around it. Especially if many of the use cases I want it for are new to me. I know what I'd like to do, but finding out what will help me achieve that, within budget & pros and cons is like????

Ok I think I'm gonna have to stop now. I'm listening to some amazing stuff. Some that I'm aspiring to recording, but I have nowhere near the best part of £1600 for the recorder alone, so that will have to wait. For now it's going to have to be a hand recorder. Likely the Zoom h4

Oh well, I think I'm just going to have to edit the noise out of the recording's I make due to the negative reviews on the H4E pre amps. I simply can't afford the studio variant now let alone the consumables etc. I really hope it doesn't end up being a waste of money

Oh I really don't think I can do that. I mean I only need an extra £200 to get what looks likely to be an all round better solution. Which, should get me much closer to what I would like to achieve! Only it's not yet available in my trusted suppliers

I don't think I can wait 10 - 13 weeks, so for the seaside project I think I might look into getting a decent little mic and use my phone as the recording device...

Yes I'm thinking about how to raise the money, but I am going for the Zoom H6 Studio. Shame about the trip away, but there will be many more and I can still do all the main elements, but the finish may be a return trip later.

Just been for a little walk & I find myself intently listening to every sound and considering how it can be used in a project. In a similar way that I select components for each element within a project. This idea is really igniting my inspiration...

Looks like I have to face reality about my field recorder. I'm not likely to be able to get it until around Christmas! I wonder if I can get a black Friday deal on one with various accessories in November....

I Just had a listen through my latest projects and I'm really pleased with how they all appear to sound much better than the stuff I (thought I'd) finished a couple of years ago. The new stuff isn't even finished yet, but they do have directions and if I dare say, are scalable...

Why is it I'm already thinking about next year? Probably because that's when I expect to start dropping my tunes.. Maybe sooner if I really can't wait, but I have a lot to do before that. Everything is getting so close & my imagination is going wild.

Can't believe how long I left this. I brought a new Samsung phone three months ago and only just set it up. I hope it's got a decent camera/video recorder as I'm hoping to use it for content creation around my music and field recording (when I finally get the recording gear).

Sorting out the fishing gear ready for my trip to the coast. As I don't yet have my sound recorder I'm going to spend my time having a go at a catch & cook while I'm there. Now I'm starting to look forward to going again
