CWM proudly recognizes our military connected students during April, the Month of the Military Child. We will have a spirit week April 7-11, and each Monday in April, there will be special events starting with our Wall of Heroes in the office.

April was Reading Month, and the library held its 3rd Annual Bookmark Art Contest! The submissions were all amazing! Congratulations to 8th grade winner, Alisha Nath, 7th grade winner, Harriet Stuart, and 6th grade winner, Logan Herrin! 📚🎨🏅

Several members of the CWMS family attended the 17th Annual Black Male Achievement and Scholarship Awards Breakfast, hosted by the New Chesapeake Men for Progress Educational Foundation on Saturday, April 26 at the Chesapeake Conference Center to honor Falcon, Demetriss Johnson!

Thanks to The Mount in Chesapeake, our Falcons’ 8th-grade masquerade ball is going to be amazing! Pastor L Jay returned to his old middle school to present our scholars with a monetary gift from the Mount and to speak words of encouragement over them that will CHANGE LIVES!

What an exciting day for the Crestwood Falcon. From being escorted around the Hornet’s Nest by Principal Canterbury during an alphabet parade at DCE to flying in to hear one of the greatest bands in Chesapeake. Our Falcon felt great pride and honor! Kudos to the CWMS band!

The CWMS 8th-grade 2025 Masquerade Ball highlighted the beauty, elegance, and excellence of our most seasoned Falcons! The event was Falcon Fabulous!

Yesterday was AVID Day. Students and Staff were asked to wear their AVID shirts or a shirt from a college of choice and to finish this statement, “Because of AVID I…”CWMS could also stand for “Consciously Working to Mold young Scholars” into college & career ready individuals.

Yesterday was Day 1 of “House Sorting” at CWMS. Students were randomly placed into the House of Givers, the House of Friendship, the House of Courage, or the House of Dreamers. They didn’t choose the house, the house chose them.

Welcome to our ODU fellow who will join our Falcon’s nest this school year. Her knowledge and expertise of the clarinet will inspire our band students to SOAR like never before!
