Ran across this Texas Horned Lizard while hunting #meteorites in New Mexico. SO cute!

Mentioned to a gallery owner that we love NM and it's weird how almost no one talks about the state at all. He said, "Shhhh, don't tell people about it!" Oops. 😂 Also: "We're the state the weather people stand in front of." He was great!

Saw a guy in an Artemis shirt and we told him we liked it. He works for a space company, turns out. And he's on our flight. The "Land of Enchantment" seems to be the "Land where you meet space geeks every place you go." 😂

Always so odd flying through a smaller airport. There are 2 flights this late. No lines for anything, came in way too early. Impressed there is still one bar and one newsstand open. Dreaming of taking off my hiking boots. Only 6-10 hours to go in our day...

Have no idea how I went for 2 weeks without having gymnastics Worlds spoiled despite endless alerts. Other than some work that must be done and fetching my car from storage, I am sooooooo excited to spend all day tomorrow catching up on days of competition!

Bernie the badass driver got us home so quickly! Only 1.5 hours right through midtown and the tunnels. How you know a true NYC driver - so aggressive, so safe, so smooth, and so fast even in hideous traffic. Wonderful to be home, even if dizzy with exhaustion! Gene J. Mikulka

While landing at JFK at dawn is super inconvenient if heading towards Manhattan, it also provides one of the most beautiful sunrises on a clear day. Everything in life is a trade-off. That one was pretty cool!

Got home yesterday as a zombie who couldn't sleep or stay awake, and then my "computer" arrives from repairs - actually an empty box that had clearly been opened and re-taped. So impressed with RΛZΞR Support, unfortunately, they use FedEx for the shipping parts.

I love when people ask me how I met my friends. In this case, "Oh, we met at the press site at KSC watching Juno leave for Jupiter." Now I'm sitting here in her mama's house, right at home in a place I love, marveling at how a chance meeting can make a whole new family.

I know it's not ideal for efficiency to keep windows open, but some crispy cool night air through the windows+seat warmers is just such a lovely feeling while driving. Happy autumn, everyone!
