PRI and UNICRI facilitated a side event on Green Prisons: A Guide to Creating Environmentally Sustainable Prisons at the margins of the RPM. Researchers shared insights on green strategies in Italy and Japan, along with lived experiences from Norway and England.

During the first 2 days of the European Regional Preparatory Meeting, NGOs representatives had the opportunity to deliver around 21 statements, raising important issues and concerns to be brought forward to the 15th UN Congress next year.

After the successful conclusion of the Vienna RPM, we eagerly anticipate the remaining regional preparatory meetings for Africa (April 8-10) and Western Asia (April 23-25) in 2025.

Yesterday, the Coordination Meeting for the Africa Regional Preparatory Meeting was held online. Tobias Krachler moderated, Mirella Dummar (UNODC) gave inspiring remarks, and Alessia Pistilli presented the Civil Society Survey. The main event starts today in Ethiopia,best wishes!

This week the Africa RPM took place in Addis Ababa. It was the fourth of five RPMs in preparation for the 15th Crime Congress. Civil Society representatives took part in the meeting and Nchokwe Donaldson Chepape delivered a statement on behalf of the Alliance.

Today marks the end of the Regional Prep meetings for the 15th Crime Congress. Together with CPCJ Alliance, we've facilitated CSOs' contributions to Member States' deliberations through the global survey, coordination meetings, and statements that will inform the Abu Dhabi Declaration.

Tomorrow, the UNODC Civil Society Unit will host the Multi-Stakeholder Preparation Day in anticipation of the upcoming Constructive Dialogue on Firearms, which will take place on Wednesday. We look forward to seeing many of you there! 📍VIC, CR7, C-Building, 7th floor 🕙 10:00 AM

On Wednesday, the Constructive Dialogue on Firearms took place at the Vienna International Centre, as part of the UNTOC Review Mechanism. Key firearms-related issues were discussed by experts. Thank you all for your valuable insights and active participation in the discussion!

Today starts the 34th CCPCJ Session! A week of key events on crime prevention, justice & international cooperation. Join the Alliance’s side event on Thursday 22: “Strengthening Civil Society Engagement at the 15th UN Crime Congress.”

Pavlina Pavlova addressed the CCPCJ this morning as EEG expert during the TD session, highlighting the growing risk of cybercrime, its impact on women and youth, and the vital role of civil society in ensuring transparent and inclusive implementation of the Convention.

Thank you to all who took part in this CCPCJ week. Once again, it was clear how vital civil society is in intergovernmental discussions on crime prevention and criminal justice. Your engagement ensures these dialogues remain inclusive, grounded, and forward-looking!

Today’s Preparation Day for the Constructive Dialogue on Technical Assistance & International Cooperation featured contributions from the co-chairs from Peru and Sweden and Anna Alvazzi del Frate enriching the discussion on the Civil Society Declaration on UNTOC implementation.
