Please remember that you share the Loop Road with pedestrians, bicyclists, vehicles, and more. Use caution when traveling on the Loop Road, park in designated areas, wear helmets if bicycling, and be aware of your surroundings. Stay safe and have fun, everyone!

As we reflect back on the historic nature of our country's national park system, excuse us for a moment while we get a little sentimental. 😪 These places encompass who we are as a nation — they tell our stories and preserve our history.

#OTD in 1776, General George Washington and his Continental troops defending Long Island, NY were overwhelmed by flanking attacks from British forces & barely escaped capture. Learning from the loss, Washington kept his army alive & won later battles, and the American Revolution.
