We may realize the answer to this is that we’ve cried once or twice, maybe for a minute or two. Or maybe we haven’t really had a good cry, though a few tears rolled down our cheek. For some people (and I used to be one of these people), we haven’t cried in years.

Mainly, those who benefit from you continuing to only blame yourself for your overeating are your parents and the caregivers who were adults in your childhood (which might include grandparents etc).

It’s the feelings where you think “I can’t go there” or “I can’t handle those ones” which are the very ones you most need to go into to heal.

I truly believe that repentance and forgiveness are the only things that can save our country and our world. This is by far the best resource I have ever come across on it. It is so practical, moving and inspiring. youtu.be/LFjUUfPwJC8?si…

Most everyone suppresses emotions, so as we get older, we accumulate more and more suppressed emotions. When you have more accumulated suppressed emotions, you need MORE compulsions and addictions in order to keep it all at bay. #overeating #intuitiveeating

I used to be so worried about my thoughts. If they were "negative", wouldn't that create compulsive eating? I believed, as many people do, that "negative" thoughts were the issue, the thing that needed to change. It’s not true!

Telling yourself that your parents did the best they could have will prevent you from healing compulsive eating. The true causes of our relationship with food originate in our childhood experience.
