Fab from Josh Vallance. Generic pedagogy weighs so heavily on a subject that it can't breathe. This is double damage: (i) it kills the subject; (ii) the backlash: an ineluctable drift back to dry, skill-based assessment for, as I argue in bit.ly/3OWtwpE, the FOURTH time
Christine Counsell Yep. Incidentally, I think schools will also be helped hugely by high quality textbooks. In part because they demonstrate what the *resourcing* of KR might look and feel like at a subj-spec level. The new Hodder stuff shows exactly what we mean by e.g. a rich narrative!
Josh Vallance Glad you think #ChangingHistoriesKS3 can help Josh. The stylish narratives, the rich detail for worldbuilding & better historical judgement as pupils bath in material culture, the lesson-by-lesson build to an EQ modelling a mode of disciplinary reasoning are all designed to help.
