This Sunday will be worship for all ages at 10.30am. There will also be a quiet reflective evening service at 6.30pm. The theme of both will be listening to God, focussing on the call of Samuel. Both will be led by Revd Mike Claridge. Music at 10.30 by Peter Childs and friends.

‘Coal, Iron, Lime … and a bit of Gospel’ is taking a break. Since lockdown in 2020 there have been c.220 weeks. I’ve done 188. Allowing for 6 weeks a year holiday it means I’ve only missed 2 a year! Viewers have also dropped to below 20 a week so a break looks a good idea.

Our prayers are with the family and friends of the victim of the tragedy in the centre of Cotteridge this evening. Prayers too for the witnesses of the incident and for the police. Roads through both Cotteridge traffic islands will be closed for some hours.

Today we celebrated with Shirley, one of our catering staff, on her retirement after over 24 years service. The Pennine Way (Cotteridge Church Café) was packed and Shirley was presented with cards, gifts and celebratory cake. Enjoy retirement Shirley. You’ve more than earned it.
