People who do regretful and shameful things love sermons about “forgiveness” and “unconditional love”. They are often hiding behind titles like pastor and spiritual leader too. It’s manipulative avoidance and indirect projection of shame onto those who don’t accept their choices.

Accepting that someone you love doesn’t have the capacity or choose to love you as you deserve and as you give to them freely can be immensely painful. Especially when it’s a parent. Allow yourself to mourn until you come to the place of acceptance and peace.

Not everyone who feels deeply or can absorb/reflect the energy of others is an empath or one who expresses genuine empathy. There’s a difference.
