We have been thoroughly enjoying our exploration of the 1980’s in Dosbarth Lleuad. A huge thank you to Mrs Edge for helping us create our 80’s style slogan t-shirts and Mrs Hughes for bringing in lots of 80’s memorabilia and allowing the pupils to interview her 🪩

🪩 Back to the 80s 🪩We created an 80s music video, the song was voted for from a handling data activity. We shared what we have found about the 80s. We planned news reports based on events that happened in the 80s and we even watched some tv shows from the 80s

A massive thank you to Mrs Crockford, who kindly volunteered to teach the children about ‘Growth’ as part of our continued topic work. The children were engrossed throughout and enjoyed finding out about how they are growing at a healthy rate. Diolch yn fawr ☺️

Today we have been very fortunate to have two visitors as a result of parent suggestions for our topic 😊 Mr Ellis come in to teach about orthopaedic parts and ‘Tic Tac’ and ‘Belle’ demonstrated how to perform emergency first aid. What an informative day we have had 🏥

Yesterday pupils organised a Pancakathon to raise money for the two incredible local charities ‘Forever 11’ and ‘Belle’s Story.’ Through sponsorship our school community raised nearly £1000!! 💙 🩷

Years 5&6 worked hard this afternoon on a litter pick with McDonald’s. They were determined to pick up as much rubbish as possible!!

We had a wonderful assembly with Bishop Dorrien today. He spoke about being ‘in the moment’ and how special moments are important for us to cherish. He was delighted to look around school, meet many of the children, parents and staff and took great joy in being with us at school.

It has been a sea of red, white and blue here at Cosheston VC School today 🇬🇧 We started our day with a special assembly to commemorate VE Day and its major significance to our lives. Pupils then set up and enjoyed re-enacting a VE Day street party 🎉 🎶

We have had such an informative visit to church this morning to meet Cosheston’s history group and see their VE Day exhibition. Pupils asked fantastic questions, looked at the range of sources and listened to information really well. 🇬🇧

We were really lucky to have Maisie from the National Park visit us today to share her role in the community. All the pupils were really engaged and asked her brilliant questions 👏
