This was an exciting weekend for us! Bechamp graduated from UNC School of Law and I graduated from Duke University School of Medicine! Graduation looked a little different this year, but we felt so much love and support from family, friends, and mentors. Next stop, St. Louis!!

You’re fixers by nature. Every problem should have a tangible solution because you recognize your privilege, and that privilege is power, and power makes things happen right? But you cower before the actual question you should be asking: “What can I do about my own racism?” 2/

First month of residency ✅ Reflections so far: I’m super inefficient and have a long way to go, but I’m learning a ton and I LOVE being someone’s doctor

Proud to share our work examining disparities among Hispanic/Latina women with #breastcancer. Why we need to be more willing to disaggregate race and ethnicity when studying outcomes in this diverse population. All the feels getting shot #1 of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine today: excitement, relief, guilt, grief, but mostly hope. It’s been a long year for all of us, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel #igottheshot

This class that closed out med school without traditional match day or grad celebrations with loved ones, moved across the country, and started our first days as doctors in the middle of a pandemic just made it through intern year. Proud of us.

So incredibly proud of terrific Duke Cardiology Fellows and upcoming Critical Care Cardiology star Cosette Champion, MD who presented a challenging #CICU case at AHA Science scientific sessions last weekend. Now that the dust has settled from #AHA24, here’s what I learned 🧵
