A huge congratulations to Mrs Caley, who was invited to 10 Downing Street on Wednesday to celebrate her work in education and contribution to society. We are all immensely proud of her commitment to making a difference to children’s lives over many years. Well done, Mrs Caley.

Year 3 had an amazing visit to @DarlLibs, where they took part in a workshop where they designed key chains/tags on a computer to be laser printed.

Year 5 had their first visit from ‘Mini Police’ this week. They learnt about the different roles in the police and the different vehicles used. They also got to try on some of the uniform. They can’t wait for their next session! 🚔👮‍♀️👮‍♂️🚨

Year 6 had a great session with Captain Chemistry this morning, where they completed some really interesting experiments and were then able to discuss what went right and wrong in each of them. 🔬👩‍🔬👨‍🔬

During anti-bullying week, this is the message from Class 4N. 💙

This week, Nursery have been learning about Remembrance Day and made their own poppies. They made them into their own wreath. 💙

Class 5L had a great afternoon with Captain Chemistry. They had to find their way to the end of the maze by only being able to see it through a mirror. They also completed a shadows investigation, used invisible ink and had a look at animal parts using a microscope. 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬🔬💙

Some of our Year 6 children attended a basketball festival this week and had a great time! A huge thank you to Darlington School Sport Partnership and Darlington Storm Basketball Club for an amazing event, as always! 🏀

What a treat we had at cooking club. Children made their own pancakes and prepared some tasty fillings. Well done to all of our budding chefs. 🥞💙

Last week, Class 3/4 visited the library. They designed and made tags and plaques using computer design programs. They are pleased with their classroom sign. They also got to control a robot to perform different movements. As always, a huge thank you to @DarlLibs 💙.

Year 5 had their final session of the Mini Police Project this week. They really enjoyed it and lots of them earnt themselves the Durham Police and Crime Commissioner’s Gold Award, which helps the children think about how they can make their communities safer. 💙

Year 6 enjoyed their Ballet Lorent workshop as part of the In2 Project. They practised using their bodies to express their emotions. Children also spent time thinking about their qualities and those of their friends too 💙.

Class 3O have enjoyed learning about teeth and created a mouth with all of the different teeth, using mini marshmallows. 🦷💙

Our Head Boy and Head Girl took our handmade Christmas decorations down to Darlington Building Society to decorate their tree. Our children represented the school very well and a huge thank you to the staff in the branch, who made them feel very welcome! 💙

💙Spreading Festive Cheer💙 Everyone in school made a Christmas card last week and what better way to celebrate 'Giving Tuesday' than our Head Boy and Head Girl going out into the community to deliver them to business, retirement homes and other local friends.

Here are this week's certificate winners who received their awards in assembly yesterday. 💙

Year 6 enjoyed their recent In2 Project session, which was their last with BalletLorent. They had great fun expressing themselves through dance, having a dance battle and coming up with group balances. There were some tricky parts to the session but they showed great resilience!
