tinyurl.com/mudyuyjt Bill Trafford (AB Coal Policy Comm), Katie Morrison (CPAWS) & I challenge AB Prmr Smith, Mnstrs Schultz & Jean to a debate on coal in our Rockies. No more doublespeak and deliberate confusion. 70%+ of ABns don't want this. Defend your position. RT

70% of Albertans don't want these mines. Time for our govt to clearly answer the public's questions about why they are determined to push these mines thru despite the terrible economics, the threat to our scarce water supply and the wishes of Albertans.

Can we hear from our govt funded scientists, please? (Dr Colin Cooke) We pay for it. Why's the AB govt not allowing him to speak to media about his findings? He's been their lead on 4 studies showing coal is contaminating both our water and our air. cbc.ca/news/canada/ca…

Dr Colin Cooke is the lead AB Govt scientist on 4 publicly available studies that clearly show coal mines contaminate our water and our air. Taxpayer funded. CBC, Global and CTV have all requested interviews. Govt of AB has not allowed it. This should be very concerning to you.

There have been numerous province-wide polls that repeatedly show the overall population of Albertans is ~70% against coal mining in the Eastern Slopes. 3000 people in the Crowsnest Pass aren't the only affected parties who have a say in this. There are 200,000 downstream.

It was nowhere close to a 'fair process'. Did you not absorb A) and B) above? They only asked a tiny group of cherry picked people when many, many times more are affected. Not sure how much clearer I can state the position?

corblund (@corblund) 's Twitter Profile Photo

200K downstream water users not polled who need the quantity and quality of the Oldman maintained. How is that not skin in the game? Are you being deliberately obtuse or is this a gag?

corblund (@corblund) 's Twitter Profile Photo

There's also a pretty strong moral argument that the province's natural wildernesses and legacy belong to all Albertans and not just to a few that want to exploit them for short term gain. Also, the all-but-guaranteed public cleanup bill will be on ALL AB taxpayers to shoulder

I've been deeply immersed in this issue and have studied it from all sides for years, and with respect, based on some of your comments, I don't believe you are knowledgeable enough about it for me to take your opinion seriously. I respectfully agree to disagree, sir.

Then my guess is that you're being deliberately misleading. I thought it was just because you didn't know better. No more amplification for you, Mr Global Mining Industry©®™

This tour has been such a blast for lots of reasons. Messing around telling stories and singing all kinds of old songs, having fantastic sold out audiences every show and getting to hang with one of my best friends Hayes Carll on and offstage every night. Sad it's nearly over.

Hey Edmonton, tickets for my show at The Starlite on May 16th are on sale now. This is an extra special show because I’m going to play both albums, Five Dollar Bill and Hair in My Eyes Like a Highland Steer front to back, in celebration of my Dark Horse vinyl re-release campaign.

One of the best cowboy songs to ever hit country radio airwaves. Maybe the best, I guess you'd have to talk to George about that. Me and Hayes Carll took a swing at it in Minneapolis and it was a pretty cool moment. Up on YouTube now. youtube.com/watch?v=2sNX5E…
