On this date in 1995 in #Minneapolis Heat indices reached reaching 109+ with temps at breaking 100 degrees. FOr 10 hours the dewpoint was 80 between July 12th & 13th, 1995.

Today, on the 25th anniversary of the Chicago Heat Wave, I am proud to announce Cook County's Clean Energy Plan. This plan is a continuation of our commitment to environmental justice.

The 1995 Chicago heat wave was a stark reminder that a person’s race and zip code were the most critical factors in determining their ability to survive a natural disaster.
