Assuming storms don't unexpectedly move through the area, Wednesday and Thursday will be very hot and humid. The heat may extend into Friday for parts of our area, depending on coverage of storms.

Cook County residents impacted by the severe storms and flooding last weekend, July 25-28, can fill out a damage assessment survey at: cookgov.me/july2025storms. Please complete the survey by 5 p.m. on Friday, August 1.

Joint Preliminary Damage Assessment teams will be out in communities in Chicago and western suburbs starting tomorrow to confirm damage from flooding on July 25-28. Teams will have IDs and will not enter homes to complete assessments.

Scattered thunderstorms will persist this afternoon, mainly southeast of a Mendota to Waukegan IL line. Strongest storms will be capable of damaging winds to 60 mph and torrential rainfall which could result in localized flooding. #ilwx #inwx
