Today was the start of year 15 in education and year 3 as an administrator. It was so exciting to see our staff coming together to learn, grow, and prepare. 2021-2022 is going to be a great year if today was any indication! McDonough ROARS! ❤️ 🐻 ❤️

We have a choice in how we encounter challenges. We can be creative to face challenges, find solutions, overcome, and of course throughout it all care for ourselves. To all the educators out there: be gentle on yourselves and of course everyone around you. Here’s to year 15!

As an LGBTQ+ educator, I often share that my grade 7 teachers saved my life because they could and did act when they saw the systematic bullying happening to me. That’s why now I say Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning at school daily. Simply, it saves lives.

I am so proud and so grateful! My first class of students who traveled through 6th, 7th, & 8th grades with me as an assistant principal. We overcame so many obstacles, including a global pandemic, and they taught me more than I could ever thank them for! 🐻 ❤️
