A new study by researchers at UCL predicts dementia cases in England & Wales will double to 1.7 million by 2040, exceeding previous forecasts by over 40%. It's time for policymakers to wake up to the threat dementia poses to individuals, families & our NHS. We need action now.

New research shows 1.7 million people could be living with dementia in England and Wales by 2040. That’s over 40% more than previously thought. This is a stark reminder that, without action, the individual and economic devastation caused by dementia shows no sign of stopping.
