As Dr Alys says, we wish we didn’t need this. But very important to acknowledge this issue and take all the advice we can to help prevent suicides in our health & social care staff across the board. #NationalSuicideMemorial

Doctors In Distress NHS Practitioner Health Don’t let stigma stop you asking about or disclosing suicidal thoughts. Anyone can have suicidal thoughts - HCPs are not immune. It's too easy to say "Why would I need a safety plan? That's just for people who are suicidal." We all think we're fine... until we're not. Don't wait. Visit stayingsafe.net to make a safety plan and know how to help yourself should you ever feel distressed.

Cristina Costache 🧡💛🤍💙 @doc_bipolar ConnectingwithPeople Sorry to hear things have been so tough. People with livedexp say that having a Safety Plan not only supports them but also their loved ones. It’s tough on both parties and can help everyone feel more equipped to know what to do to get through distress/support their loved one

Why not mark #WorldMentalHealthDay by making a Safety Plan if you don’t yet have one! It’s the MH equivalent on putting on a car seatbelt. It can be hard to think clearly at times of distress or crisis and a Safety Plan can equip you for difficult times before they happen 1/2
