I had the honour of attending the unveiling of the Stuart Hall plaque Uni of Birmingham last week. I was struck by the number of his former students who still attend events & talk about what a wonderful educator he was. If that’s not winning at life, I really don’t know what is.

Stuart Hall on the need to put forward an alternative political project, to think long-term instead of just the next election: “I'm talking about a whole conception of politics: the capacity to grasp in our political imagination the historical choices in front of us, today.”
