Today Class 3 visited a temperate rainforest in the Rusland Valley. They learned about the features of a temperate rainforest and used a hand lens to investigate mosses and lichens. The only thing missing was the rain (which we were all pleased about!)☀️ #ConistonCEPrimaryclass3

Today Ruth came in to deliver a Science lesson on how the ear works. The children loved making a human model to show this. They then used playdough to create a model ear. Thank you Ruth 🤩 #ConistonCEPrimaryClass3

Class 1 have been reading the story Rainbow Fish and talking lots about how we can be kind to others and share. Today we had a go at orienteering and wow, 🤩 I’ve got to say, I was impressed with their listening to instructions, finding objects and matching them to a map.

Class 1 Muddy Monday - we had a gorgeous day on Monday! It was much cooler but lots of exploring and enjoying seeing our friends from Coniston Child Care 😃

This week Class 1 have been learning all about 2D shapes and how we can find shapes within shapes. We magically decomposed a square into triangles & rectangles then a hexagon using rhombus & trapeziums. We also made pictures using lots of different shapes. ☺️

Class 1 ended the week with a pupil delivering a fantastic talk on her rocks, fossils and gemstones from home. She had a great knowledge of their names, where they had come from, and we were all really impressed with her confidence presenting them. Well done 👏
