On Saturday, September 20, the Corban Ave and Church St intersection will be closed as contract crews resurface the roadway. The closure is anticipated to last from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. See the map for detour info.

There was a shooting at the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony just before 7:30 p.m. The remainder of the event is cancelled and visitors are advised to leave the area and drivers should seek alternate routes.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Concord PD at 704-920-5027.

UPDATE (12/9/2025): 18-yr-old Nasir Ahmad Bostic was released earlier today from the hospital. He was arrested & charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill & inciting a riot. Bostic is currently being held in the Cabarrus County jail.
