🚨🌍Our #NeurIPS2023 workshop is Friday! Be sure learn more about our amazing speakers! 🎙️✨Next up: David Rolnick! We can't wait to hear him talk about AI for Climate and Impact-Guided Innovation! 🌐Check out compsust.net/compsust-2023/ to learn more about David Rolnick!

Me and my poster on multi-modal classification 👁️➕📜 for wildfire house burning (feat. Jeff Wen Marshall Burke) are going at NeurIPS 2023 Computational Sustainability Workshop on Friday. Would love to see any friendly faces 😊

Tomorrow I'm giving a Spotlight Talk at the Computational Sustainability Workshop workshop at #NeurIPS2023 about our work on domain adaptation for scalable automated fisheries monitoring. Would love to chat with anyone working on (or interested in) ML for conservation, sustainability, and climate!

🎉Tomorrow is the first #NeurIPS2023 workshop on Computational Sustainability! 🎙️✨We can't wait to host an amazing panel during the workshop including Grant Van Horn, Caleb Robinson, Emily Aiken, Carla Gomes, and Eric Ornstein! 🗓️Check out our schedule on compsust.net/compsust-2023/

And we have begun! @LEGreenstreet has kicked us off with opening remarks and a wonderful introduction Computational Sustainability Workshop #NeurIPS2023

David Rolnick leads our first talk with a call for impact-guided innovation to drive efforts in #AIforClimate Computational Sustainability Workshop #NeurIPS2023

Our next speaker David Dao gives a presentation on #ML for the natural world, particularly focusing on how Gainforest.Earth is deploying real-world data payments on the ground with local partnerships in the global south. Computational Sustainability Workshop #NeurIPS2023

We’ve got a rockstar panel at Computational Sustainability Workshop going on now 🤘🏻 ! Sherrie Wang is moderating the discussion between Carla Gomes, Grant Van Horn, Eric Orenstein, Emily Aiken, and Caleb Robinson 🌎🌳🦆🍃 #NeurIPS2023

David Rolnick at Computational Sustainability Workshop: for ML to have impact in climate we need new paradigms for methods development and evaluation

Our first afternoon speaker is Hannah Kerner 🌎 She is discussing some of her work and DATA from Arizona State University and NASA Harvest to show how to use #MachineLearning at a planetary scale to build a sustainable future Computational Sustainability Workshop #NeurIPS2023

From my talk at the Computational Sustainability Workshop NeurIPS workshop: The importance of impact-driven innovation in addition to methods-driven innovation. This paradigm of research is essential in AI for climate and biodiversity - and it also leads to groundbreaking new algorithms.

At 4:30 I will be discussing gaps between benchmarks and deployment in Room 238 - 239 as part of the Computational Sustainability Workshop workshop!

We had a ⚡️ round of talks on spotlight papers in each of our 4 sub-areas: promises, pitfalls, theory, and deployment! 👏🏻 to all of our spotlight speakers Henry Herzog, Justin Kay, Jing Wang, Emily Aiken Read more on all of our papers here! compsust.net/compsust-2023/
