On hot summer days like today, Como Park Zoo & Conservatory’s horticulturist Victoria Housewright has one of the coolest jobs on campus, tending to the lilies, Victoria water platters and other aquatic plants that grow in the water gardens that surround Como’s Visitor Center.

Como Park Zoo & Conservatory has welcomed another zebra foal! Born in the wee hours of the night to Grant’s Zebra “Thelma”. Como’s Zookeepers found both mom and baby up and about this beautiful Autumn morning. The new foal can be seen at Como with half sister Aurora, born in May.

Even with the slight chill in the air today, the sunny spots are abundant and beautiful throughout Como Park Zoo & Conservatory. Chloe is adept at finding a spot of sunshine in her favorite tree in Tropical Encounters. Tell us about your favorite spot to soak up the sun at Como!
