The boat-trip from ‘Wapping’ to Blackwall in commemoration of the Mayflower began with a speech by Rabbi Shalom Morris of Bevis Marks Synagogue. The Pilgrims and the Sephardi Jews were allies in Holland, and the synagogue is on the site of Heneage House, the Pilgrims’ centre in London.

Lovely evening spent at the Illuminate Rotherhithe & Bermondsey lantern parade and ceilidh this evening. There was something magical seeing a sea of lanterns. Well done to everyone who made it happen and especially to Annabel and Larry for all of their organising to make such a special event.
