Earlier this week we heard from Bob Ward at Grantham LSE, he told us that stopping climate change goes hand in hand with net zero, the Government should be talking about the two whenever they talk about the UK energy transition. Chair: Bill Esterson
In our session yesterday, Tom Greatrex 🌹⚽️☢️, Chief Executive of Nuclear Industry Association, told us that the EN7, the Government’s new policy statement for planning nuclear generation, is needed to enable the country to hit its 24 gigawatt target.
Tomorrow at 3pm we're questioning OVO, Octopus Energy, E.ON Energy UK, Centrica plc, EDF Energy UK and ScottishPower. We'll be examining their role in the wider energy system and the high cost of energy to consumers. Read more: committees.parliament.uk/event/25089/fo…
Earlier this week we heard from Rachel Fletcher from Octopus Energy on the need to have the same budgetary control that we have over taxes, to manage policy costs on energy bills which increase the financial burden on energy consumers.
