Just caught this colourful fella roaming about the bedroom. The closest I can get online is Ichneumon extensorius but really, I haven't a clue. Any takers? 😬

At risk of sounding morbid, grave tops are a fantastic place to look for urban succulents! Here's what I think is Garden Mossy Saxifrage (Saxifraga x arendsii) growing alongside White Stonecrop (Sedum album) today in Benton πŸ‘€

Chuffed to find the hybrid between Primrose and Cowslip - also known as False Oxlip - at Mugdock Country Park, flowering away. Cowslip parent was growing side by side.

I recently visited a known site for Lady Clermont's Spleenwort, Asplenium x clermontiae. This hybrid between Wall-rue (A. ruta-muraria) and Maidenhair Spleenwort (A. trichomanes) is surprisingly rare, given how common the parents are, and is known from only two sites in Britain.

Easter Sunday squares and a visit Tyneside's port and some lush brownfield nearby. American Speedwell (Veronica peregrina) was a surprise at the former but otherwise, lots to see!

The highlight of today's adventure: my first encounter with Green Hellebore (Helleborus viridis) at its only site. Amazingly, recorded on and off since the 1500's 🀯🌱.

Three-nerved Sandwort (Moehringia trinervia) from a sandy woodland edge at Shrawley Woods this afternoon. Sepals longer than petals, petals entire - not bifid like Stellaria media. Leaves nicely displaying three prominent veins on the lower surface.
