I’m honored to sponsor today’s resolution recognizing the week of June 26, 2023 “El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame Week” in El Paso County. Thank you to the El Paso Sports Commission and the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame for their work to recognize our talented athletes!

Last month, the El Paso County Criminal Justice Dept. was recognized as the 2023 Texas Pretrial Services Agency of the Year. It’s a privilege to sponsor today’s resolution honoring their commitment to serving our justice-involved community.

This is one step in a long process. I am committed to ensuring environmental improvements are made for our community. I would also like to work with stakeholders on a regional plan to transition commercial traffic to more suitable ports of entry. The conversation has only begun.

A few weeks ago, I was able to celebrate our very own Old Glory Memorial’s 20th birthday. Thank you to El Paso Texas Flags Across America for having me there.

Partnerships matter. El Paso County Constable in Precinct 1 Oscar Ugarte, and his staff, with help from Destination El Paso, promoted our beautiful Sun City and won the bid to bring the JPCA Annual Conference to El Paso in 2025. Great job!

The public can now monitor the County’s progress on our American Rescue Plan Act projects portfolio through an online public dashboard, updated monthly. It has info on portfolio strategic areas, all projects and their status, and funds spent from those allocated to projects.

Join me on August 2nd at 6 PM for a Precinct 4 community update at the Canutillo High School Cafeteria. With updates from Public Works, Facilities, and the Parks Dept., come learn about the projects in our Precinct. We’ll finish with a Q&A session. We look forward to seeing you!
