Join the Box Office Bears team and 1623 actors for an exploration of Shakespearean (and others’!) bears as we enter their playworlds, performed by, or as, a bear, returning to a time when bears fundamentally shaped popular entertainment during this period. eventbrite.co.uk/e/shakespeares…

Lace industry reached its peak in 1800s, making Nottingham a key trading centre - with UoN History and Dr Helen Foster we are running Being Human Festival hands on drop in activity at the Nottingham Industrial Museum, who have kindly waived the ticket fee to participants. beinghumanfestival.org/events/laced-m…

Flexed my hours for ArtsEngaged UoN today and enjoyed my later start time at work. Spent the morning cycling and stumbled/pedalled unexpectedly through Cropwell Bishop, home of #Stilton and one of the cheeses we'll be sampling later at Being Human Festival 'Cheesed Off!'

Tonight I'll be on BBC Radio 3 discussing C.S. Lewis with three much more interesting guests. Freud! Narnia! The place of religion in public culture! The disembodied voice of Anthony Hopkins! Tonight at 10pm, and then on the BBC's "Arts and Ideas" podcast feed.

A couple of weekends ago, @captainhealy and I indulged in a trip to Peterborough Cathedral⛪️ We spotted pomegranates on Katherine of Aragon's tomb and wondered what they represented. Who knew the The Conversation and the wonderful Gaby Never CLAS UoN would provide an answer so soon!
