On Friday some of our Y5&6 children attended the Biblio-Buzz: Alexandra Palace Book Awards 2025. They had a great day meeting the shortlisted authors and were delighted that their favourite book "The Island at the Edge of Night" by Lucy Strange was announced as the winner!

As Reception classes continue learning about countries around the world, our most recent focus has been Turkey. We have learned about the mountains and lakes there, the animals which live there and a little bit of the language. Many of the children also enjoyed baking Burek.

We have a wonderful new mural in the Nursery playground, designed and painted by The Mural Artists. Children from around the school have been visiting the artist at work to ask questions. It has already sparked lots of conversation in Nursery about the different birds and bugs.

Our Nursery, Reception and Y1 children enjoyed a special assembly with author Naomi Jones and illustrator Rebecca Ashdown. Many of the children took comfort in the new story "The Hug Button", and were inspired by the main character Matilda, so had a go at drawing her themselves.

Last week we held our last Foodbank Aid collection of the year, with the now traditional human chain to move all of the goods collected from the school to the waiting car. A total of 50 bags of shopping, or 480 individual items, were collected this time around.

Exciting things are happening! One of our playgrounds is getting a little makeover this summer – we can’t wait for you all to see it when you’re back in September! A huge thank you to all the parents who contributed, and to Coleridge Families for making it happen.
