#OnThisDay - 25 April 1660, Sir Harbottle Grimston, MP for #Colchester was elected Speaker of the House of Commons. In the Civil War, he remained a Parliamentarian but had Royalist sympathies. His house was burned during the 1648 #SiegeOfColchester .
