As the days go by, Pupy is becoming more at home at sanctuary. We’ve watched her step further and further into the mud wallow, but she hasn’t fully gone in yet. She is playing there more and roughing up some of the clay at the bottom. This morning, Kat discovered a little trail

Pupy gets 3 meals a day, including a late-night snack—which she’ll eventually outgrow as she explores larger yards. Her diet now includes hay, grains, produce (like her fave, watermelon!), and trees she forages herself. 🍉🌿 More here: globalelephants.org/checking-in-wi…

Can elephants get cancer? Despite having 100x more cells than humans, elephants get cancer far less often. Why? They have 20+ copies of a tumor-suppressing gene called TP53, plus a “zombie” gene that helps kill damaged cells before they become dangerous. ow.ly/tIwz50W5gJO
