Thurrock Museum Volunteers' next exhibition will review World War one at home and abroad charting main events and prominent people. Opening Monday the 10th in the ground floor gallery space of the Thameside Theatre. This is a FREE exhibition

#WW1 the War Years exhibition by Thurrock Museum Volunteers is now on in the ground floor gallery of the Thameside Theatre Grays. It'll be running until 11am on Friday the 28th December

Teaching Yr 3s Coalhouse Fort Park today. They were rightly wowed by the fantastic views from the roof. From this angle we were looking across the moat & then the R Thames, with Kent easy to see on the horizon. The 'water tower' in the middle distance was a secret #WW2 radar tower.

Our touring exhibition had it's first outing at Horndon Feast and Fayre on Saturday. You can see it this coming Saturday at the TICCulture festival in Grays college.

The start of a beautiful day Coalhouse Fort Park caught before 40 jolly Year 7s, 8s & 9s arrived for their #WW1 day. A fun, full-on day teaching #History. My feet need a rest now though!

We're looking forward to bringing our touring exhibition to Thameside Nature Park on Friday the 26th! We'll be bringing the top three artifacts with us. Our main display will be left at the park over the weekend in case you miss it on Friday. socsi.in/icMAg

On Tuesday the museum volunteers hosted the launch of their latest project commemorating WW2. Their first exhibition 'Remember World War II' features memories from local residents alongside war damage photos. 2-20 September ground floor Thameside. Further exhibitions to follow.
