Just be a good human

I'm seeing a movement on Twitter of skill players saying that football is not football unless their linemen are involved. I'm here for this movement.

Use to believe toughness was about action. As I grow older I’ve learned it’s all about your reaction to things that defines how tough you are.

When you make a mistake, there are 3 things you should do if you want to be great. 1. Admit it. 2. Learn from it, and 3. Don't repeat it.

Good teachers know their lesson plans. Great teachers know their students. Good coaches know X's and O's. Great coaches know their players. Good leaders know their vision. Great leaders know their team. Your people make the difference. They matter. Remind them that you care.

Change expectation for appreciation.

Disqualifying players for plays like that is atrocious...I am fine with the penalty, but kicking the player out of the game is awful

Don’t confuse activity with improvement. Just because you show up doesn’t mean you are getting better, it just means you gave yourself a shot at average. The intent is what separates people.

There are many kids who no longer think of themselves as "smart" because their grades took a hit in '20-'21. To help them stay engaged, remind them they're still the same curious, capable kid & should instead feel a sense of pride & accomplishment for negotiating this tough year.

I've never seen a problem that was solved by only complaining about it.
