Mitch has just had his 4 hour 30 minute feed. We will be entering the South West Shipping Lane reasonably soon. Still very good conditions and the air temperature is increasing nicely RedTopSwim
3:02 into the South West Shipping Lane. Going extremely well and appears to be feeling positive! Some movement in the water but nothing crazy. Weβre very happy with pace and position π€ RedTopSwim Channel Swimming Association
The Red Top Buccaneers have completed their English Channel Relay in 13hrs 23mins RedTopSwim Channel Swimming Association Masterpiece Charters
Sean is flying along. Weβve left the Separation Zone and are now in the NE shipping lane. Wind has lifted and sea deteriorated but weβre still making excellent progress π RedTopSwim Channel Swimming Association
BOOM!!! SEAN PAUL BRESLIN is an English Channel solo swimmer!!! An awesome swim in brutal conditions today. Landed just south of CGN in 12h 14m. Solid effort π€πͺπ RedTopSwim Channel Swimming Association
Mitch Hutchcraft is an English Channel swimmer π₯ He completed his swim last night after an epic 18 hours 19 minutes. He had to battle hard for that one: congratulations Mitch πββοΈππͺ RedTopSwim
We are 2 hours 45 minutes in and Jo is swimming well. There's still some swell from recent winds but the wind today should be giving us a bit of a push RedTopSwim
Tessa Garside has started her Catalina Channel swim being escorted by Pacific Star. She started from the island with some unfavourable currents but these should subside after 3hrs. A gentle swell but generally excellent conditions RedTopSwim
8hrs in. 7k to go. Dawn has finally broken. Will be local currents 6k off coast due to depth change. Temp will most likely drop a couple of degrees too. Going very well and positive although exhausted in her words. No choice but carry on! RedTopSwim
9:15 in. 3.8k to go. Dense fog isnβt helping her head but sheβs getting in well. RedTopSwim
10:00 in and 1.8k to go. Have been on 20min feeds since 8:30 which has helped. Just got to keep digging in. She had a wobbly and I told her to trust me. She nodded. Sheβs good, sheβs just got to finish it RedTopSwim
BOOM!! TESSA GARSIDE is a Catalina Channel solo swimmer!!! Smashed it in 10hrs 41mins!! Awesome swim finishing in a cool 15C for the last 4.5k. Great work π€πͺπ RedTopSwim
WILL SMITH has started his Catalina Channel solo swim, leaving Emerald Bay on the island and being escorted by Pacific Moon. Dolphins off the bow already and all going well. 0.5kts current from the NW so our heading is c. 15degs off target. All OK RedTopSwim
8:30 in and well over half way although changed target now so we can cover more distance per hour. So not heading for the closest point, but heading for the quickest landing. Whales and dolphins out here and the fog appears to be easing RedTopSwim
BOOM!! WILL SMITH is a Catalina Channel solo swimmer!! After swimming through dense fog until the last 500m he finally reached landfall after 15hrs 45mins. Awesome swim!!! π€πͺπ RedTopSwim
Chris Cook has just started his Catalina Channel solo swim from Emerald Bay on the island and is being escorted by Pacific Moon. Conditions are excellent with a light unhelpful current from the NW predicted to drop after a couple of hours RedTopSwim
5:00 in and approx half way. Itβs really cold out here as weβre directly facing the east wind. Unusual for an east wind out here. Chris has needed some seasickness tablets and also some caffeine to wake himself up πRedTopSwim
8:10 in. 6k to go. It was a cold night with random swells and chop caused by the east wind. Fog has lifted but low-lying cloud remains RedTopSwim
BOOM!! CHRIS COOK is a Catalina Channel solo swimmer!! Battled through some Pacific chop in the night and landed at Smugglers Cove in 11:09. Awesome swim!! π€πͺπ RedTopSwim
