Reminder for catchers to PREPARE the umpire for the pitcher you are catching. Give the umpire a quick scouting report on your guys arsenal. FB movement, shape of breaking ball, what area of zone he is most effective, ect. Want to make sure umpire not caught off guard by a pitch

Neverrrrrrrrrrrr forget the person who taught you the work when you were new and clueless. Many people can hire you, but only a few will teach you with patience, protect you when you make mistakes, and say, "Don't worry, you learn." That person deserves lifelong respect.

Excuse my ignorance on this. What year did we start letting 9 year olds take leads & steal bases? When we were 12 foot had to be on the base. Stealing at 9 years old & taking leads might be the dumbest thing to date I have seen on a baseball field at any level.

For freshmen in your first H.S. season: Right now, every game feels huge… but the years fly by. You won’t remember every score— you’ll remember the bus rides, the long nights, and the work nobody saw. Take it all in… even the rough days. It ends quicker than you think.

Another high school coach said to me this week: “You see kids committing D1 off exit velo, ‘upside’ and showcases… Then you check the H.S. stats—and they’re hitting in the .100s.” He asked: “If you’re a D1 guy, shouldn’t you be lighting up H.S. pitching?” Thoughts on this?

I got a text from a coach today saying that’s is not “as common as you’d think” for high school coaches to help their guys with recruiting As a high school coach, if you’re not helping your guys try to achieve whatever they want to achieve next, what’s the point of doing any of

Man said I didn’t forget how to coach, this team just sucks 😂 In all seriousness, I respect it … guys are getting PAID PAID now at the college level … … you want to get big boy $$$, you better be ready for big boy criticism when you play like shit 🤷‍♂️

High school coaches chasing stars at other schools instead of developing the kids in their own program is wild to me. Build what you have. Develop your backyard. That's real coaching.

JUCO isn’t a backup plan. It’s a launchpad. Most players get this wrong. JUCO eliminates wannabes. You either grow or you get passed up. Here’s the reality: • Coaches recruit: Portal → JUCO → High School • You get real reps (400+ ABs, 100+ innings) • You become tougher,

No college coach anywhere recruits a player based on how good the parents think they are. The player’s ability has to sell itself

The #1 question dads ask me: “Coach, does my son have what it takes for college ball?” Answer after 35 years: Does he love baseball more than the highlight reel? Skills can be taught. Obsession cannot.

If you’re a Senior in H.S. D1 baseball commit, you should be absolutely DOMINATING at the High School level. Agree or disagree—that’s the reality. And with the transfer portal now… it only reinforces that.

One thing high school has over travel baseball is no time limit. Can’t stall or run the clock out. Every travel coach has had a playoff game decided by time being used as a strategy piece and we all know when we see it happening

There’ s a switch-hitting surge in underclass prospects (especially ‘27 SS’s‼️) that is trickling into the youth game as well. Curious to see how this trend develops & what it reveals about the type of skilled athlete set to propel baseball into the future. 🧵👇

Players stop feeling “picked on” when you are being coached to do the right things. Coaches are not going to get on you if you’re: • Hustling every rep • Shirt tucked in • Showing good body language • Playing solid catch • Taking care of the field • Cleaning the

Amazed at the amount of players reached out to by top D2 programs that don’t respond but post videos with the quote “looking for a home”. What is home exactly? You’re being offered great opportunities. Time is running out, Not sure what players are looking for nowadays, but If

The majority of high school baseball coaches aren’t in it for the paycheck. The hours don’t match. The stress doesn’t match. The pay doesn’t match. They do it for the love of the game, most people don’t realize that.
