Networking 101: Instead of reaching out to someone and asking for a job, ask them how they got to where they are.

Think of it like this: If you ask a random person for a job chances are they won’t hire you. If you ask them how they got to where they are at now, they may get on the phone with you. By the end of the conversation most people will ORGANICALLY ask what they can do for you.
