Connecting? Ability to ask question, be still, listen intently, write it down. Point-unlock people when they themselves don't know how to communicate deeply: it is very difficult to help 'team' when you are afraid to reveal yourself. It takes time, patience, & asking more ?'s.

Leadership comes in many forms not just one. Leaders are lighthouses, highlighting people's strengths, bringing them back to their greatest assets. think simple & direct, putting those people in front of a mirror: 'Here you are, do what you do best, learn from mistakes, enjoy'.

Show & tell, sense of purpose for your team, putting meaning to the grit & toil of each day. Bring in a former player to address team, it only takes 5 mins.. 'Here is where you are & here is where & why you are doing what you are doing. Fleshly pictures, a story=better results.

The 'more to it than that' is convincing your guys to play that way, meaning practices are where it all gets done. Much like an Oklahoma St. practice minus the football gear, helmets included.😎

Leadership. Parenting. Coaching. Sometimes it is best to let someone fail & deal w/ life's fallout. Leadership not for everyone, restraint difficult, but let the blood flow. How many times has Steph interceded on DG's behalf?
Time unfolds no matter the event or person. Onward.

Being a good teammate. Define it, act on it, be it. If a teammate needs help, be there, just be there, stay reasonably quiet, start w/ one act of kindness at a time. The iceberg theory=most people just don't emote what is bothering them, so stay patient & listen/look for cues.

Many things go into this moment, not just the fire. The kindling to coach players hard-hard is being competent, building daily trust via acts of kindness, time spent w/ players outside gym, & winning. Never underestimate the power of winning relative to chewing rump.

Steve Kerr pro at putting attention where it needs to be, team won game in spite of DG ejection. Thus, C. Kerr redirects attention off DG. So smart. Nope DG not changing & headed for another collision.

Mental toughness & discipline of tongue vital in pressure situations, especially when difficulty arrives. Curry's response to DG's ejection speaks volumes. My focus on Steph, his spirit to compete & carry his team to victory in spite of challenge. Congrats!

Tumultuous times=portal & NIL impact all levels. What to do. Keep your habits right & be good to people. Players. Take good care of them, work w/ them, be gracious should they leave. The alternative will only eat you up, make you grouchy, & a bitter-bitter person. Onward.

Planting seeds, watering those seeds, sticking to grind of nurturing those seeds, TLC(tough-loving-care). Statement: We have high standards & you will exceed those standards b/c you are you. Our team about standards, it starts early in morning & continues throughout each day.

Hubie Brown notes. Pull them out & understand he is a treasure. Few have ever hit hardwood as a better teacher. He has many salient qualities, yet what stands out, his conviction. Point: teach to your strengths, just focus on that when teaching.
