Lincoln HS Track and Field/XC Steven Montoya Coaching Distance Same! We have chopped our warm up down from 60 to 40 minutes (5 of which are probably in the bathroom)

Jason Moore Coaching Distance From my perspective kids are just going through the motion for warm up runs. I had another coach mention Jeff Boele warm and I gave it a try and I like it. It had a big emphasis on hip flexibility. instead of a ten minute run. We do lunge matrixes, and build ups/sprints.

I have group of moms that welcome the new families by walking with them and letting them know about our xc program during summer running. Helps me out because as a coach we have over 20 different lessons ( running) plans when starting.

Coach Jimmy Centella Coaching Distance Jason Moore I hadn’t had any issues with that. Usually we’ll make the cool down a little long or add an 20min run in the afternoon.


Brian Doyle Coaching Distance I would do something very similar (modified from Ben Thomas)- ran 13:19, 7:42, 8:20 (steeple) using it. I was MUCH more prepped for the race than your classic 3 mile + strides Rope stretch 1 mile easy Drills 800 threshold 3x100, 1x200m at RP 400m jog. + a few short strides
