Epsom managed to win two trophies simultaneously on Monday! 🏆🏆
Our Bell Trophy team ousted Woking 3-2 in the final of that competition (wins for M Gosling and S Kumar). Meanwhile, South Norwood 2 did us a favour by drawing away to Guildford 3, so we won the Centenary Trophy!

Final match of our season tomorrow as Epsom host Woking in the final of the Surrey Border League's 'Bell Trophy' rating-limited knockout competition.

Congratulations to Peter Lalić, who won Monday's Epsom C.C. 'Bank Holiday Blitz' with 8/9.
Graeme Buckley came 2nd despite a perfect score after seven rounds, Emma Hng was 3rd and 'El Presidente' Marcus Gosling finished 4th.
Our top junior was Arnav Kumar in joint-5th place.

Disappointment for #Epsom #Chess Club (and me personally) as our Stoneleigh Trophy team in the Surrey League is pipped to the title by Dorking, who narrowly won their final match (against Guildford) last night.

Epsom chess club was quite a big part of my life, sad as that sounds. I will miss it.

Our long unbeaten run came to an end last night at the hands of Kingston, who defeated Epsom 4-2 in the final of the Surrey Lauder Trophy.
A win for president Gosling on Board 2 was outweighed by victories for Maycock, Bussmann and Taylor.

Epsom's unbeaten run in Surrey League competitions extended to 13 matches last night, with wins in the Centenary Trophy (4-2 v Guildford 4) and Stoneleigh Trophy (6-2 v Ashtead).
Tonight is a big test though - the LAUDER TROPHY final against fierce rivals Kingston!

An Epsom 5 team containing four juniors and one adult debutant drew 3-3 with South Norwood 3 on Monday, alongside a drawn Stoneleigh Trophy match with Guildford. Epsom 4 also beat Ashtead 2 by 4-2 on Tuesday to continue our purple patch in the Surrey League.
