Given it's where he's been playing so well for Leipzig, it's a bit crazy that Xavi hasn't been given a proper chance on the left for the national team.

Hopefully he'll get one in one of the next friendlies.

Agreed. Although if it's a back five we'd prefer Van de Ven than Ake at LWB given his speed, and the three of them as the three CBs isn't a great balance given two would have to play out of position and the leader wouldn't be in the middle.

Van de Ven staked his claim yet again for a starting spot in Oranje witha great performance today. He's looking like one of the best defenders in the world right now.

Him and Van Dijk at CB with Ake and Dumfries out wide would be so strong.
