Legacy automakers are so far behind on EV technology that even a 30% tariff wall won't save them from Chinese competition.

Policymakers should focus their carrots and sticks on helping legacy automakers compete at lower price ranges instead of artificially propping up EV prices.

This is the major red flag in the Premier's announcement. Passenger rail is sorely needed. But experimenting with hydrogen is the wrong move. People need proven rail technology that works.
