This morning Kernodle Middle School’s PTA generously provide coffee and a treat to our staff and we walked into Jesse Wharton to this fantastic bulletin board in the front entryway! We are thankful for the kindness our host schools have show!

Thanks to our kindergarten Stars for coming to Popsicles on the Playground this evening! We can’t wait to see our 4/5 families tomorrow night at Kernodle for open house from 6-7! Follow the signs off Drawbridge Pkwy to find the Claxton entrance to the building. See you there!

Construction of the new Claxton Elementary School is now underway. Upon completion, the new, innovative facility will challenge the traditional classroom makeup through design that leads to inquiry-based learning. Completion of this 2020 bond project scheduled for February 2024.

Thankful that our 4th and 5th grade students were given the opportunity to learn some field hockey basics from local high school hockey coaches. If any students or parents would like further information about field hockey clinics or camps, please get in touch with Mrs. Walker.

Our first graders welcomed Officer Steve Langholz and Captain Stephanie Mardis to Claxton today. Officer Langholz and Captain Mardis did a safety talk and told students about their jobs. They brought with them, Porter, a therapy dog. What an amazing experience for our Stars!

Last month, Claxton Elementary hosted its 2nd annual Storyteller Saturday. Families enjoyed storytelling sessions from a number of guests who told stories through music, puppetry, improv comedy, toys and action figures and much more! #GoodNewsGCS #BetterTogether
