We describe a simple and versatile haploid induction system for maize. Lines heterozygous for a cenh3 null mutant induce haploids as female or male. The cenh3 null can be crossed to any background in one cross and the hybrid will become a haploid inducer. advances.sciencemag.org/content/7/4/ea…
