In Dresden a human chain of 13k people remembered the victims of the City’s total destruction during WWII. The Coventry & Dresden twinning stands for reconciliation post WWII. Many thanks also to the Dresden Trust & its patron HRH the Duke of Kent for its reconciliation work.

Today, on Valentine's Day, marks the 150th anniversary since the first society for physical research was formed! Did you know the IOP was once two bodies, the Physical Society of London and the Institute of Physics? Both bodies merged in 1920 to form the IOP we know today.
