Today, I had a productive meeting with H.E. Mr. Izawa, Ambassador of Japan🇯🇵 in Senegal.

The purpose was to provide an update on WFP's activities and strengthen our commitment to children's nutrition🍲 & education📚 through the #schoolmeals programme in #GuineaBissau 🇬🇼.

I had a very insightful meeting yesterday w/Ms. Thérèse Tounkara, Director General of ORANGE BISSAU.

We have identified several areas of synergy🤝 that will allow us to maximize our efforts to transform #FoodSystems 🌍🌱 for the benefit of rural communities in #GuineaBissau 🇬🇼.

Productive meeting w/H.E. Mr. Carlos Pinto Pereira, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Communities of #GuineaBissau .
We discussed about World Food Programme's main activities & explored ways for the Govt to increase its support for #schoolmeals & smallholder farmers.

We are engaged in transforming local #FoodSystems through a joint emergency #foodsecurity project with the African Development Bank Group & the Govt of #GuineaBissau 🇬🇼.

As part of these efforts, 80 technicians were trained on #climateresilient agricultural practices last week.
