Something I feel we are obsessed with in this country is that working class creatives must suffer for their art in order for it to be 'real' or taken seriously. They are often only lauded once dead, by the same people who were a barrier for them in life.

It's world cancer day. This was me over 11 years ago having treatment for stage 4b Hodgkin Lymphoma. My heart goes out to everyone affected by cancer.

Susan was once a commentator for the Eastbourne Eagles speedway team. I spent some time talking to her, she told me it made her day as she felt very lonely. This is a common issue with older people. This portrait is part of an ongoing project about Eastbourne.

I have a strong view that no innocent people should be subject to war and suffering. It should not matter where or when such protests take place, like yesterday's. This issue is so urgent, it's happening now for every long moment of every day for these people.

So long as the British government is not demanding an immediate ceasefire, it is complicit in these unspeakable horrors.

End the complicity Rishi Sunak and demand an immediate ceasefire!

I can't believe I graduated eight years ago! In 2015 I completed a Masters course in Photography at Middlesex University, shockingly getting a distinction 😊. I was able to do this course because I got awarded the Luck-Hille Postgraduate Photography Award.

It's National Cancer Survivors Day today. Thinking of those going through cancer treatment right now. I was diagnosed with stage 4b Hodgkin Lymphoma 11 years ago. I made a photo-documentary & this triptych of self-portraits is from diagnosis-remission.

In the first part of our new At What Cost series examining the cost of living crisis's real hotspots, Ben Smoke went to Eastbourne – the coastal town with the highest number of Trussell Trust food parcels delivered per capita to find out what's going on.
