Articles and advertisements in Clare community magazine, Focus were a huge help in establishing information on the previous shops that traded from each premises. Here's an article from 2001. Talking Heads is one of Clare's oldest shops.

Can you help? Clare shops are displaying their unique poster showing previous uses of their premises. Some of the posters contain gaps & information accompanied by '(?)' - meaning it's based only on our best guess. Please let us know if you can augment or correct any of our info

Many people local to Clare have fond memories of Peddar's. In 1978 their sheepskin coats were "£1 off during December" 🙂 We have lots of lovely old ads like this in our exhibition, Clare Shops: Past & Present. Open weekends: noon to 4pm. Free entry.
