It's a fucking joke hearing MPs talk about "the need to support women's rights" as a smokescreen for attacking the rights of trans people on the same day as Britain jailed a woman for taking abortion pills when she couldn't get a scan.

Notice how all these people apparently so devoted to women and women's freedom only ever support it when they can use it to attack trans people (who aren't even threatening it!) and are completely silent when it comes to actual state misogyny and attacks on bodily autonomy.

The way in which the deaths of uber-wealthy people instantly becomes the catalyst of “have some empathy” discourse, while the regular monstrous deaths of countless poor people doesn’t, demonstrates how completely the rich set the terms of every conversation in media.

Every time a boat full of helpless poor people capsizes, we are overrun with seething comments—in newspapers, on air, in parliaments—that damn them for an imagined criminality, for making the choices they made, for daring to infringe on even the imagination of the wealthy.

Every time the contemptible rich die or get sick and the masses dare to express resentment, no matter whether those wealthy people were nightmare figures, war criminals, outright fascists etc., we will invariably see this pathetic bleating that asks us not to cheer their demise.

I am so confused by Secret Invasion, and especially by Olivia Colman's character Sonya Falsworth, who basically seems to be British Nick Fury, except way better at being Nick Fury than Nick Fury, but she also keeps disappearing, and it feels like she should be the protagonist.

Wow the ending of Secret Invasion was dumb.

Wait. I just remembered they ended She-Hulk with a fake-out episode that was effectively an extended joke about how a particular ending would be absolutely awful and dumb. And the Secret Invasion's ending is basically that deliberately bad, fake ending, but worse and dumber.
