It’s been a busy start to the week. It’s good to keep occupied as the weight of missing my lovely daughter Tory can feel overwhelming at times. It’s nearly 18 months & the initial shock has faded, but I still feel ‘shocked’ that she has gone & the sadness is intense 💙 #grief

One of the toughest things I did after my daughter died was drive to her university town & clear out her room. Tory loved Plymouth & spent ages setting her room up. It was simply 💔 to pack it all away. I sobbed the whole time. I’m grateful to still have her room at home🩵 #grief

I was about to moan to hubby ‘will it ever stop raining’ on our evening walk & this beautiful rainbow appeared. It made us smile & think that Tory was smiling down on us. A little bit of joy on our walk & I also came home to some left over caterpillar Bday cake 😊 ❤️🌈 #grief

It’s my birthday today! My hubby knows how hard I find birthdays since Tory died & for my birthday he made me this lovely model. It’s Tory at her bench. She’s wearing her medical scrubs & is on her phone which is perfect. He painted her hair red ❤️. So touching #grief #childloss

Had a fab weekend in Bruges. A beautiful place with great food & beer! It does wonders to get away but so hard only buying a present for one daughter instead of 2 especially as there was lots of Harry Potter stuff which was Tory’s fav 💔…..but she sent me a few signs ❤️ #grief

Feeling very lucky. Surprise weekend to Bruges all booked & arranged by hubby. Looking a bit tired as it was a very early start to get the ferry/drive here but it’s beautiful, sunny & now we are relaxing enjoying a beer in the evening sun. It’s just what I needed ❤️ #grief

After a day of rain, rain and more rain it was a lovely sunny evening so a perfect excuse to go and see how the bluebells are doing. A good stomp through the woods and an array of beautiful flowers is good for the soul 🪻💜 #grief

The bluebells beginning to come out on my walk today gave me a lift after a tough few hours. Another week & the woods will be full of them. I do find being in nature helps me connect to life when I’m spending a lot of time thinking about Tory & the past. #grief #forever20 💙

For the past week every single morning Trixie has taken herself off to Tory’s bedroom for her morning sleep. She never slept in there before & usually sleeps in the lounge. Why now? Is she missing Tory? I find comfort sitting in there so perhaps the cat does as well 💙 #grief

Went for a long walk today. This path resonated with how I feel. Like I’m trudging along trying to get somewhere but not always managing it. I guess that’s grief, knowing you can’t get full happiness after your daughter dies but trying to find some bits of joy in life 💔 #grief

Went into London today for an appointment so decided to go on the cable car. It was something Tory talked about taking me on but we didn’t get around to it thinking there was always next year….. I thought about my beautiful girl & felt close to her up near the clouds 💙 #grief

Saw this rainbow on the way back from collecting my younger daughter from work. I will take it that Tory was smiling down & wishing us a Happy Easter break. Perfect timing as I was feeling an overwhelming sadness that she’s not with us. It gave me such a lift 🧡 #grief #forever20
